Manage and change your subscription
Open the purchase dialog from the sidebar Credits menu, then select Manage beside Current plan. Here you can check renewal, change a paid membership, schedule a switch, or cancel automatic renewal.
How plan changes work
Personal, Team, and Business memberships can be billed monthly or annually. Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10: 2 months free.
| Your change | When it takes effect | What you pay when requesting it |
|---|---|---|
| Same plan and billing interval | No change; Current plan is unavailable | Nothing |
| Same plan, monthly to annual | Immediately after successful payment | Annual price less the unused value of the current monthly period |
| Same plan, annual to monthly | At the end of the current annual period | Nothing today; monthly billing starts at the switch |
| Higher plan, same billing interval | Immediately after successful payment | The prorated price difference shown in the confirmation |
| Higher plan, monthly to annual | Immediately after successful payment | New annual price less the unused value of the current monthly period |
| Higher plan, annual to monthly | Unavailable during the current annual period | No payment; monthly billing becomes available when the annual period ends |
| Lower plan, same billing interval | At the end of the current paid period | Nothing today |
| Lower plan, monthly to annual | At the end of the current monthly period | Nothing today; annual billing starts at the switch |
| Lower plan, annual to monthly | At the end of the current annual period | Nothing today; monthly billing starts at the switch |
An immediate change requires successful payment. Scheduled changes keep your current benefits until the paid period ends and charge the new plan when it begins. They do not refund or credit the remaining period when you request the change.
Make an immediate change
- Choose the target plan and billing interval.
- Select Upgrade now or Switch to Annual.
- Check the plan, amount due today, unused-value adjustment, and new renewal date in the confirmation.
- Confirm the payment authorization and pay.
- Check the success result and your updated membership.
The confirmation shows the applicable charge and renewal date. Under the plan-change policy, immediate changes reset the billing date to the change date; the next renewal follows the new monthly or annual interval.
Understand the adjustment
For a same-interval upgrade, the charge is the price difference multiplied by the fraction of the current period remaining. For a monthly-to-annual switch, it is the new annual price minus the unused value of the current monthly period.
For example, with half of a Personal monthly period remaining:
| Change | Calculation | Example charge |
|---|---|---|
| Personal monthly → Personal annual | $190 − ($19 × 1/2) | $180.50 |
| Personal monthly → Team monthly | ($59 − $19) × 1/2 | $20.00 |
| Personal monthly → Team annual | $590 − ($19 × 1/2) | $580.50 |
These examples explain the adjustment. Use the amount and dates shown for your actual subscription before confirming.
Schedule a change
- Choose the target plan and interval, then select Schedule change.
- Review the switch date, the new renewal price, and No charge today.
- Check any reduction in storage or project seats.
- Select Schedule switch.
- Check the scheduled-change notice for the target plan and date.
Your current benefits remain active until that date. You can cancel the scheduled switch before it takes effect. Choosing a different target replaces the existing schedule; it does not create several future changes.
If you want a higher monthly plan while billed annually
An annual-to-monthly upgrade is unavailable until the current annual period ends. The interface shows when monthly billing becomes available. To obtain higher-tier benefits immediately, choose the higher annual plan and review its payment confirmation instead.
Cancel or resume renewal
Use subscription cancellation to stop future renewals. Check that cancellation is recorded and note the date your paid benefits end. Canceling renewal does not itself refund an earlier payment.
While a canceled subscription is still within its paid period, use Resume subscription if you want to restore renewal. Resume the subscription before requesting another plan change; plan-change actions are unavailable while cancellation remains active.
To move to Free, cancel renewal rather than purchasing another membership. Paid benefits continue until the displayed end date, then the account returns to the applicable remaining benefits.
Payment problems
| Status | What to do |
|---|---|
| Payment declined | The plan remains unchanged. Check the payment method and retry when ready |
| Bank verification required | Complete the verification; new benefits are not granted before payment confirmation |
| Payment received, confirmation pending | Wait for the verified result; do not pay again |
| Overdue payment | Use Update payment method and resolve the payment before changing plans |
Dodo processes membership payments. If an immediate switch uses a full-price charge and a separate unused-value refund, check both records and the net amount described in the confirmation. For a missing update or refund, contact support with the payment reference.
Credits and resource add-ons
Annual memberships still grant subscription credits monthly. Check credit history for each grant's expiration.
Extra Storage, Project Seats, and Studio Bundle are separate fixed-duration purchases. A membership change does not refund or prorate those purchases. If the resulting plan has insufficient storage or seats, excess access can be restricted while existing work is retained. Restore the required benefits or resources to resume affected work.
