Edit in multitrack view
Use the multitrack view in Post-Production to check the chapter's arrangement and adjust recording positions, pauses, and clip boundaries.
Play and navigate
Use the toolbar to play or pause, move through the chapter, and inspect the playback time. Playback stops at the last clip.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Play or pause | Space / K | Space / K |
| Forward 10 seconds | Option + Right Arrow | Shift + Right Arrow |
| Back 10 seconds | Option + Left Arrow | Shift + Left Arrow |
| Next clip edge | Command + Right Arrow | Ctrl + Right Arrow |
| Previous clip edge | Command + Left Arrow | Ctrl + Left Arrow |
For the current shortcut assignments, open shortcut settings from My on the creation page.
Zoom in for precise edits, or zoom out to inspect a longer passage. Use the timeline overview control to fit the chapter's clips into view. On a trackpad, pinch to adjust the time scale.

Check recordings against the script
The Script Track displays the text above the recordings. Narration and each character's recordings appear on their corresponding Voice Tracks. If required audio has not been recorded or generated, it will not appear as a playable clip.

Isolate a track
- Solo: listen to the selected track. You can solo several tracks together.
- Mute: silence the selected track.
When any track is soloed, other tracks are excluded from playback. If a track has both controls enabled, Mute takes precedence. Gray clips can indicate that the track is muted or excluded by another track's Solo setting.

Move a clip
Drag the clip left or right within its track. With Snap enabled, nearby clip edges and markers help you align it precisely. Release at the desired position, then listen across the edit.
Clips cannot overlap on the same track or move between tracks. With Ripple enabled, adjusting a voice clip also shifts later material to preserve subsequent timing. Moving a sound clip does not shift the voices.
Trim the boundaries
Drag an edge handle inward to shorten the clip, or outward to restore previously trimmed material. This hides part of the audio rather than deleting it from the source.
To remove a mistake or pause inside a recording, open Edit from the clip's menu and use the audio content selection tool. See Edit an individual recording.
Delete clips carefully
Select a clip and press Delete. Use Ctrl/Cmd to select several clips before deleting.
Deleting a required voice recording leaves its script passage without audio and can prevent mixing. Replace or record the passage again. If text should not be spoken, review its reference status in Script Editor; a reference mark does not itself remove existing audio.
Collapse audio tracks
Use an audio track's collapse control to reduce its height; expand it to edit in detail. Collapsing does not mute the track. The Script Track is not collapsible.
After rearranging or trimming audio, check the surrounding voices, music, and SFX. Run Mixing to update the chapter's mixed file before review or export.
