When to use Smart Alignment
Use Smart Alignment when a human performer records a long audio file outside Audimind and you need to connect it to the script. Audimind splits the recording into clips and matches them to the selected character's lines across a chapter range.
Good uses
- A character's lines were recorded continuously in Audition or another recording tool.
- One recording covers several chapters.
- The file includes retakes, repeated lines, or pauses that need review before editing.
Select the correct character and chapter range. Clear speech without background music or overlapping performers makes recognition and matching easier.
When you can skip alignment
AI audio generated for a segment, Online Recording captured against a segment, and an audio file uploaded directly to the correct segment already have script associations. They do not need Smart Alignment just to enter Post-Production.
A segment with no audio may need recording or generation rather than alignment. First determine whether its performance exists in a long recording.
Alignment and review
Alignment connects audio to the script; Smart Review compares recognized speech with the script to find differences. Transcripts already generated during alignment can be reused for Review without another transcription charge.
The project creator pays the alignment charge shown before submission. Completed transcription may be charged even when some clips cannot be matched. Check the estimated fee before confirming the task.
