Post-Production FAQ

Why is a Voice Track empty?

Check that the character has lines in this chapter and that their recordings have been uploaded, submitted, or generated. Expand a collapsed track to inspect it. If completed audio has not appeared, refresh after checking that your edits have saved.

Why are clips gray or silent?

Check Mute on the track and Solo on other tracks. When Solo is enabled, only soloed tracks are heard. Mute takes precedence if both controls are enabled on the same track.

How can I see more of the chapter?

Increase the panel height or collapse audio tracks you are not editing. Zoom out or fit the timeline to the chapter to inspect the arrangement over time; this changes the time scale rather than the number of visible tracks.

Why did later clips move?

Ripple can shift later clips when a voice clip moves or changes duration. Check the surrounding passage after an edit. Disable Ripple when you need an independent adjustment, then check that voices, music, and SFX still align.

Why can I not drag a clip to a position?

Clips cannot overlap on the same track or move between tracks. Check whether another clip occupies the target position. For simultaneous sound effects or music, use another SFX Track or Music Track.

Why did deleting audio leave a gap?

Use the audio content selection tool in the individual clip editor to delete a range within the waveform and close the gap. Deleting a whole clip with the clip selection tool is a different operation.

Why does a split recording still appear as one clip?

The multitrack view shows the outer clip. Its internal pieces remain editable through Edit, and playback follows the internal arrangement. Changes to their total duration update the outer clip.

Why can I not mix the chapter?

Check missing recordings, unassigned voices, and the project creator's credit balance. Also check your project permissions. If a background task failed, open Processing → Processing Tasks and follow its error details before retrying.

Why is music or an effect missing from the mix?

Check the track's mute state, clip volume, start time, and trimmed duration. Preview the passage, then mix again to update the file.

For a Voice Effect, check that it is applied to the intended recording. Voice Effects treat the voice; separate ambient or action sounds belong on an SFX Track.

Why does the voice sound worse after Denoise?

Compare the processed recording with the original. If processing damages the voice, remove the treatment or replace the recording. Fades can smooth clip boundaries, but they do not remove background noise throughout a recording.

Why are Audio Settings unavailable?

Editing your own settings and another performer's settings can require different permissions. Ask the project creator or a member who manages permissions to check your access. Applying settings to existing audio in bulk also requires the relevant membership benefit.
