Configure the project workflow

The workflow determines which production stages a chapter uses and how tasks move between them. Configure it before the crew begins, then review the impact before making changes mid-production.

Production stages

A collaborative chapter normally moves through Script Editing → Recording → Post-Production → Review → Completed. Review is optional; when disabled, the chapter proceeds from Post-Production to completion.

Open Project Settings and the creation-mode or workflow settings. Review is disabled by default; enabling transcript processing can consume credits.

AI Audio Generation

  • Manual: members generate the required AI audio when ready. Missing required audio must be resolved before completing Recording.
  • Automatic: entering Recording triggers generation of the chapter's AI segments. Check the credit notice and the creator's available balance before enabling it.

Review Transcript Generation

  • Manual: an authorized member generates transcripts in Smart Review.
  • Automatic: entering Review triggers transcription of human-recorded audio.

AI audio is excluded from human-recording transcription charges. Existing usable transcripts can be reused. These generation-mode settings are reserved for the project creator; automatic modes depend on the creation mode and options enabled in the interface.

Chapter movement and task completion

Crew members mark their own active tasks complete. A director or member with workflow-management permission can manage chapter movement and reopen tasks.

Moving forward is blocked if skipped stages contain unfinished tasks. Returning to an earlier stage can reopen work; tell affected members what needs correction.

Return to Recording

When prompted, select the responsible performer. For human recordings, the relevant task reopens. For AI-generated audio, the correction flow can return to Script Editing so a member can change text or settings before regenerating.

Solo creation does not use crew task assignments. Check the mode-change confirmation before enabling collaboration or removing it.
